Weddings Get Weird and That’s Why I Love Them
Weddings aren’t just romantic. They’re hilarious, chaotic, unpredictable and full of personality. Over the years, I’ve built a style that’s all about fun wedding photography in Cape Town, capturing the real pictures that couples actually remember.
Not everything goes to plan on a wedding day, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The real stuff makes the best photos
I’ve photographed brides mid-snort-laugh, grooms in tears (the good kind), grannies owning the dancefloor (more than you'd think), and guests attempting to breakdance. These are spontaneous shots, and they’re always the ones couples fall in love with.
This is what fun wedding photography in Cape Town really means to me. Photos that show people as they are, not just how they think they’re supposed to look.
Sometimes I catch it. Sometimes I coax it.
The key is helping people let go. I'm not just snapping away like a fly on the wall. I read the room, crack a joke when things feel stiff, if I can get people to laugh, they forget about the camera.
Sometimes that means stepping back. Sometimes it means getting right into the chaos. Either way, my goal is to capture the kind of moments that bring a smile every time you look back at them.
Each one of the pictures below comes from a real wedding here in Cape Town, and they’re perfect examples of how fun wedding photography can be anything but traditional.
These are the photos that last
Years from now, when the dress is packed away and the cake is forgotten, it’s the feeling of the day you’ll want to hold onto. That’s why I focus on the energy, the unexpected, and the very human moments.
If that sounds like your vibe and you're looking a photographer who's fun and quirky, I’d love to hear from you.
