Silo hotel wedding venue.

I was lucky enough to shoot Kirsten and Heinrich's wedding at the gorgeous Silo Hotel wedding venue in Cape Town.

Surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City, this venue offers spectacular views. After they built it, I'd really hoped to shoot a wedding there. You can imagine how pleased I was when Kirsten contacted me for exactly that reason. When the booking was confirmed, I was over the moon and really excited.

It's a fantastic venue with so many areas to shoot in, the windows' whole design as an architectural marvel. They converted it from an old grain silo. Instead of levelling the Silo, they incorporated it into the new building design.

Wedding ceremony on a glass floor.

Yes, that's right! The wedding ceremony was on a glass floor, which is the roof to the Zeit's Mocaa Art Museum below. I've never quite felt comfortable with those glass floors, no matter how 'strong' they are. In the end, I was too busy taking photos of the wedding to even notice. Before long, it was a distant fear.

Superb views of Table Mountain.

Looking through the reception windows, the views of Table mountain really are incredible. I could get fantastic pictures of wedding reception with that as a backdrop; it looked incredible. Upstairs on the roof we could also shoot fantastic pictures of Kirsten and Heinrich with Table mountain as a backdrop.

The Diamond windows.

I didn't know this till recently but the hotel's windows looked like diamonds, I'd always marveled at the shape of them and wondered. I stole the couple off for a quick night shoot using one of those windows. It came out really nicely, you won't miss it.

The Silo hotel is a modern upmarket marvel and perfect wedding venue, I've included more information about the venue below.
