Michelle and Wihan decided to have a small intimate wedding at Tintswalo Atlantic in Cape Town. Their wedding was co-ordinated by Cape Town wedding planner Kirsty Marmarellis from Weddings Out Of Africa. Although Kirsty does larger weddings, she is the go-to wedding planner for smaller intimate weddings or elopements in Cape Town.
Timing for the wedding photos is important. I loved Michelle contacted me asking when the best time to get married was. Too early and the lighting can be exceptionally harsh. While the pictures won't be ruined, they could be so much better. An advantage of smaller weddings is that timing can be far more flexible since there are fewer people to worry about.
Beware of timing on your wedding day.
That clock sneaks away from you before you realise. I can't tell you how many times I've heard a bride say "Oh we've got lots of time" only to be running out of the door at the last minute. Luckily Michelle's makeup was already done. This is often where the time can become an issue, especially when there are a lot of bridesmaids. In this case, I was able to spend lots of time with Michelle, getting stunning bridal portraits. She simply radiated on camera!
A gorgeous ocean backdrop.
The wedding was held on the Lamu deck at Tintswalo among close friends and family. The deck overlooks the beach with Hout Bay in the background. Tintswalo is a magnificent wedding venue, you simply can't go wrong. I love shooting weddings at this venue!
Perfect golden hour.
It's all about timing for the photos. Between Michelle and I, we nailed it! I wrapped up with pictures of the couple in an absolutely gorgeous light. Their wedding pictures are stunning.
